My Guide

Image
One year ago, I was set apart as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. One whole year of standing as a representative of Jesus Christ. What in the world? My mind can not believe that it has already been a year. I feel like it was just yesterday when I was at the airport saying goodbye to my family. Oh, how much my life has changed, how much I have changed as a person. I have loved every minute. It has stretched me & pulled me but in the very best of ways. It is sacred. This calling is sacred. It gets me thinking of the mission of Jesus Christ. How sacred it was! To come pay the price for us & give us eternal life. He did it & He could because He is the Son of God. Being a missionary is special & I can do it because I am a daughter of God. I get thinking often about the sacredness to wear this plaque & I feel that sometimes I take it for granted. Sometimes it may not be marked in my heart. This week, I noticed a change. I saw things differ...

Make It To Heaven

We went back. That sweet little family with the cool life story, the dad from Morocco. It all started with a question about the tree tattoo. He told us it represented his family. My eyes probably got so wide right in that moment. Wanted to explain family history but decided I would wait. We somehow got brought to the topic of life after death. It is cool to hear the difference of beliefs he has. In his religion, they believe that in the next life, we go alone, without our families. I got so sad, but decided that was our chance to talk about eternal families. I showed him my family tree, talked about my grandpa from Germany & they were so fascinated. Both of them got their phones out & downloaded the app. It was so special & they are so special. I hope they can see the happiness that this gospel brings. You may remember Bruno. Well since the last & only lesson that we had had, we couldn't have another. He works a lot & isn't the fastest at responding. We had ...

To Make One Happy

You may remember. A few weeks back, after a crazy night, our friend & his whole family showed up in the most random situation. The Jensen family. They couldn't be cuter. Well, they promised they would go to church that first time visiting them. & the week passed by, we couldn't have a lesson & waited & waited in the church & they didn't come. The dad had woken up, but the kids wouldn't budge. So, on Thursday we went to visit them. The kids were in school. We had planned to talk about baptism. & we invited them to be baptized as a family. You could see the shock in their eyes, but after a few seconds, they nodded their heads & said yes. It was the happiest moment. We are so happy for them. My birthday was filled with miracles. It was such a special day. We went to teach our friend Patricio. We taught of Joseph Smith. He opened his heart right up. Asked a ton of questions & we followed the spirit. We then had lunch with Mica!!! Sweetest mem...

For I Am Not Ashamed

I stand in awe with the power of the priesthood. We have been teaching a friend who has had some medical problems for quite some time now. They can't figure it out. We felt to offer her a priesthood blessing & so, two worthy priesthood holders came with us to a lesson. As they pronounced the words, you could tell that they were words given from God. Power given from God. We explained that that blessing will act according to her faith. The next morning, we received a text from her that she slept through the night with no pain. I just knew that it was because of the sweet power of the Holy priesthood. Although her pain has now returned, I know it was just a sweet touch of the spirit to her heart to recognize the power of God. I hope she can have enough faith in that. We focused on baptism. We taught everyone about baptism. One of our friends could be baptized today. He has been reading the Book of Mormon & coming to church. We have invited him to pray many, many times. We don...
