Change Of Heart

Doctrine and Covenants 84:88 "And whoso receiveth you, there I will be also, for I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up."     As I sat in the cafe that morning, I couldn't stop myself from crying as I read this scripture. The spirit was there, and it was strong. Oh my goodness it is just so wonderful to be a missionary. I felt a change that very first day and now here I am 3 months later noticing change even more. I had a change of heart this week. I read and listened to so many amazing talks and books and scriptures. I just want to pour out all of the things I learned but I will limit it to what I feel is most important.     But first, I am going to tell you about this week!!! Got our new companion!!! Hermana Burgos is so funny like everyone has said and she is just awesome. I know that I am going to learn so much from her and I am excited! She ...

Growing!!!

The first transfer is finishing & I really can't believe it. Hermana Trimble is leaving me, my mom.. BUT for now, we are getting another Hermana who will finish my training after Hermana Trimble leaves. Her name is Hermana Burgos! She is from Uruguay and speaks Spanish, Portuguese, & English. I have heard she is so funny & she will always say not to speak English. That will be an adjustment for sure but I am hopeful to see improvement in speaking!!! I am excited to meet her & to introduce her to the people of Santa Rosa!!!      This week we have had a few special lessons!!! One being with our recent convert, Pablo! He has been struggling with a few things in his life and we shared a scripture with him and as we were baring testimony, he began to cry. The spirit was there and I was able to say the things that were in my heart!!! I am so thankful.      We also taught Lidia! She's getting baptized the first week of December!! Last week, her dau...

It's Good To Have You Back

I am going to be baptized, just not yet. We have been teaching this lady named Adriana. My companion started teaching her before I got here so it has been a while. Adriana is so good. She has come to church 14 times and is so involved. She prays, reads the scriptures, & goes to ward activities. She has been invited to be baptized 3 times though, and each time she has said no. Until the past two visits. She says I am going to be baptized, just not yet. We pray and pray for her. We shared Alma 7 with her and it went so good. I had tears in my eyes. She was explaining so many things she loved about this chapter. In the end, she still said, I am going to be baptized, just not yet. You just want to grab these people and shake them and tell them yes you do!!! You want to, right now. Why are you waiting?? We are teaching you THE most important thing. Your literal salvation. But it's just how it goes sometimes. It is the reality. They will be ready in time. The Lord is in control!!! An...

Bring Him Fruit

"You have not chosen me, I have chosen you." This can be taken a couple different ways. I love all the ways but one that has stood out to me while being here is that as missionaries, we promised people before this life that we would find them and bring them this gospel!!! That is something I learned recently that I have just loved to picture. As I go out each day, I try to treat every conversation with the thought in mind that I have been searching for them my whole life and they have been waiting.     There was a mission conference in Bahia Blanca this week! We received lots of revelation and some new ideas on how to be better missionaries. So this week, we have been applying those new things & I want to share them here because it involves EVERYONE!! Missionary work is not only for missionaries!!! We all need to be helping gather the people for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ!!! & let me just say, it is so near. This week on our first interactions with people, we t...
