Jesus Christ died for us. He knows us. He is the one who helps us change. It is so special. & so is Damian. He was very much involved in our week. The other sisters of this zone have been teaching him. We just got to hear lots about him & meet him a few times when he came to baptisms in our ward. I finally got to be a part of a lesson with him in exchanges. He has a hard life, he has been shoved under the sand by people he loves, & it's hard for him to open up. He has felt something special with the missionaries since day one. He has been ready to be baptized for some time now but he hasn't felt completely ready. He got baptized yesterday & I promise it was joy. In that lesson we had, we went over his baptismal interview questions. We shared experiences & it was sweet. We finished with a prayer & Hermana Sandberg looked up at him & said, "Damian, never forget that God listens to your prayers." & tears filled his eyes, it was perfect. Af...

He was explaining how much happier he feels when we come over, how much things make sense, & how much he likes the books. We told him that it is the spirit of truth. There is no doubt in my mind that the spirit hasn't testified to him because of the abundance of it that we feel as we teach him. He just has a hard time recognizing that. We invited Jorge to be baptized this week. He told us no, closed no. He has had it one way his whole life & just can't seem to let the spirit lead him to the place where he could be happy, neverending happy. Hermana Hoopes was left without words. He asked why she was so quiet. She began to bare testimony. Testimony that reached my heart. So powerful & tears streamed down my face. It was so special. I know that this is true. It all is, without a doubt in my mind. If people would just ask in faith, they would too. When we went home I knew he needed to hear the prophets' voice. & so we will see where that goes. By small & simple things, great things come to pass. I see this happening all around me. Miracles are flowing into this work each day. He got to Mosiah in his reading!!! Jorge started the Book of Mormon about a week ago & he has been reading so much. Our sweet 81 year old friend is a joy. The spirit floods in every time we are with him. We are trying to get him to church. As we invite him there is so much power. He explained to us that he has yet to go to this church, but he has always wanted to. We tell him that the time is now. He cannot wait any longer. He still hasn't come & I think it's because he knows that if he goes he will know its true. He feels different as we teach him & as he reads. He has a hard time believing that there's still time to change. It is never too late.  That desire stays with them. Silvia & Esmeralda are going to get baptized so soon!!! We went over at the beginning of the week & taught the commandments. We left so happy b...

The desire is in their hearts. We went with a member to visit our dear friends Silvia & Emeralda. They let us in with joy on their faces, like always. We decided to take it back to the basics to help them build up their testimonies. & so, we did. We taught from the scriptures about how important it is to pray, to go to church, & to read the scriptures. We told them how much it blesses our lives & how much it will bless theirs. Silvia started to talk about how they had been thinking about baptism. The plan as we went wasn't to invite them to be baptized because last week we did & she said not yet. She told us that they have a desire but it is just hard to put a date because they don't know if they'll make it. So, we invited them to get baptized on November 25!!! They said yes & they were so happy. It was so special! The spirit was there. We got a referral from social media. A lady who wanted a Book of Mormon. We reached out to her & she told us sh...
