Open Our Hearts

Something so special about being a missionary is to see the sweet little miracles that come as people progress. Our dear friends Valeria & Micaela are two of those miracles. They are acting in faith & as they do so, they are feeling the spirit. They began reading the Book of Mormon & although they don't understand everything, they feel that what they are doing is good & that they are getting closer to Jesus. It was sweet this week as my companion related this feeling to Nephi. He didn't exactly know at first if what his father, Lehi, had experienced but he went forth believing in prayer & eventually that faith became testimony. As Valeria said the closing prayer, the spirit made its way in. She was able to recognize that & so we hope & pray that they can keep going forward, acting in faith until what they believe becomes testimony. As we go around getting to know people, we find ourselves always talking to the ones who don't believe in God. It bl...

Heaven Cheered

Two people who I love so much, opened the doors to heaven this week. It was such a special day. Filled the font, set up the chairs, decorated, & then it was time. Yanira & Nahuel showed up. They were so happy. We sang The Spirit of God, the spirit came flooding in. Listened to a beautiful message & then made our way to the other room. Nahuel first. As Rodrigo began, tears started to flow into my eyes. To think of the change of his life, the happiness this brings, & all his family whose lives change as well. I couldn’t help it. He came out of the water so joyous, basically jumped out. Then gave Rodrigo such a big hug. Then Yanira, oh boy, emotional. Rodrigo baptizing his sister who finally accepted the gospel. Such a moment of peace & happiness. It really just felt like heaven was cheering. I loved each & every second I had in the Necochea branch. They have half of my heart. This week we received transfer news. I got transferred to the other branch that touches m...

Last Hour

After lessons everyday for a week, we finally finished. Nahuel & Yanira are ready for their baptisms!! We have found their pure desire & it is so beautiful. They both have made the changes necessary to go forward with this. Lessons filled with the spirit & lessons filled with laughter. They have become family & I could not be more thankful. This Thursday, their lives will be changed as they receive the first covenant with their Father in Heaven. They will be opening the door & I know they will keep going, looking for the next!!! Karina has been on the edge. She got baptized the first week we got here. She has been a light in our lives. Recently she has found herself getting caught up in the little things. A lack of love & passion in the branch. She doesn't feel good going to church. She felt that maybe it was her calling, so she took a step back from that. But then, she didn't come to church yesterday. The first time she has missed since her baptism. Oh ...

The Lord's Will

The miracles didn't stop. On Monday night, we got a text from Rodrigo that he had convinced his sister to receive the missionary lessons again. Yanira has been taught by a handful of missionaries & when the rest of her family was baptized, she had decided that it was not her time. Her & Nahuel are cousins, so we had planned a lesson with the two of them on Wednesday. Made sure that it would just be the two of them so we could really focus in on their needs. As we planned that day, we knew we just needed to share stories & speak of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. We did, & oh how evident was the spirit. Nahuel shared with us that how two nights in a row he has been flipping the Book of Mormon open to a random page & the first scripture has been Alma 7:14. Inviting us to be baptized. As we finished the lesson, we invited him to be baptized on June 17. Following, we invited Yanira to be baptized the same day. She was hesitant but said she would pray about it. They k...
