To Make One Happy
You may remember. A few weeks back, after a crazy night, our friend & his whole family showed up in the most random situation. The Jensen family. They couldn't be cuter. Well, they promised they would go to church that first time visiting them. & the week passed by, we couldn't have a lesson & waited & waited in the church & they didn't come. The dad had woken up, but the kids wouldn't budge. So, on Thursday we went to visit them. The kids were in school. We had planned to talk about baptism. & we invited them to be baptized as a family. You could see the shock in their eyes, but after a few seconds, they nodded their heads & said yes. It was the happiest moment. We are so happy for them.
My birthday was filled with miracles. It was such a special day. We went to teach our friend Patricio. We taught of Joseph Smith. He opened his heart right up. Asked a ton of questions & we followed the spirit. We then had lunch with Mica!!! Sweetest member. She invited her family to eat with us. They have been inactive for a time now. We ate tacos & then ice cream!! We watched the first vision & her four year old son sat so contently the whole time, not only that, he watched it again. Normally he goes screaming through the house when we share a message. We had a lesson with Pablo!!! Our convert. He is the most pure. He seems like a different person these days, comes in with a huge smile, serves others, & says hi to everyone. It is beautiful. His baptism really changed him. Then a lesson with a friend who we had recently found. He listened to us so intently as we taught him of the restoration. We all strongly testified of these important truths & then bought facturas. I was left in awe with all the blessings given to us that day.
In one of the first weeks in Centro, a lady came out of a house screaming at her daughter. Then she was walking near us crying. We smiled at her & kept walking. Then she said, "You are from a religion, aren't you?" & we said yes & she cried & told us all things that happened. & we remembered the house of her daughter because it is close to ours. We wanted to maybe stop by & visit one day. Just so you all know, they fixed things that night. We went to go visit Alicia a few times in her house. She is sweet. She loves her family so much. On Saturday, we decided to pass by the daughters house just to see. At this point, we knew quite a few things about her daughter's family. So we knocked. Her husband came out. We talked for a while outside & they invited us in. He is from Morocco. He has such a cool life story. & we taught them a little bit of the restoration. We are going to go back. They were so pure.
As we waited in the church yesterday, it was time to start. Still were waiting at the doors when the Jensen family came turning the corner. Oh happiest day. All 5 of them came to church!!! The members almost killed them, they were so excited. It was so special to see them there as a family. We then visited them that night. We taught them of the plan of salvation & eternal families. It was powerful & the spirit was present. They all listened & asked questions. We changed the date for them to be baptized for a little bit later so they can get prepared. But that day we put the whole family on date to be baptized!! Well, all that can be baptized now. The littlest is almost 7 so he will have to wait his turn. It was so pure. I am happy.
I just want to thank you all for the sweet messages you shared with me on my birthday. I really did feel so much love. I am so happy to be a missionary. I love sharing this message. I love sharing why it changed my life & how it can change theirs too. When people feel the spirit for the first time or read from the Book of Mormon or go to church, it is my joy. Look for moments to share your testimony. It may be in the way you act or in the words you share. People look up to you. Remember that.
Oh how much I love you. & I pray for you.
With all my heart,
