He Sent His Son

My heart is full of love. We spent countless hours moving tree branches this week after the storm. It was the perfect preparation for Christmas. Jesus was full of service & love. We were able to do that this week. In Sacrament meeting yesterday, we sang Silent Night & the spirit came over me. I felt so much love for my Savior & all He did for me. This time of year is so special & I feel so blessed that I get to be here with my second family & all these people I love.  After days of service, we finally got to have a normal day. We went to go see one of our new friends. Eiten is his name. He is 17 years old. When we got there, he came out with the phamplet & had been reading right before we got there. We hadn't even told him we were passing by. He had so many sweet questions & at the end, he offered a prayer in his heart to his Heavenly Father. It was just the sweetest thing. I am so grateful for his willing & open heart.  Carolina & Ivan were...

After The Storm

The storm just hasn't stopped. & actually there ended up being a tornado. Just so happened to be on divisions & someone let us into their house just as it started to get bad. Right as we went in, the power went out. Eventually, we left & the wind was so strong. Decided it would be smart to head home. On the way, we saw trees just knocked over, cable wires everywhere & poles just down, roofs taken off houses, & so much water. When we got home, we had no power either & eventually lost service. Finally, we switched back & Hermana Carruth & I did lots of member visits & random friend visits because we couldn't charge our phones. In the middle of the day, went to walmart to charge our phones & buy water. We had run out of water too. That next day we were told that the city was in a state of emergency. Had to stay inside because another storm was coming. So home, all day. Well, we went to lunch with members. Happiest day. Next day, wake up ...

He Just Cried With Me.

The rain was just coming down all day long, two days in a row. We came home each of those nights feeling so very blessed at the outpouring of love God showed to us. Lorena is our sweet friend who wants to be baptized. She kept telling us how beautiful that seems. She was just waiting on the invitation. She is very faithful & really feels such a connection with the Holy Ghost. It truly will be her constant companion. Our next lesson, with Mingo & Milagros. Taught them of the gospel of Jesus Christ. They truly looked at us with light in their eyes. We invited them to be baptized & they explained to us that this was their desire. There are people who are just so ready. God led us. The next day, we plan our day. Finish with a prayer & unknowingly, thought we should go visit Graciela. So even though that was out of the way we made it happen. Left & the very first person we talk to is a friend we have been trying to have lessons with outside of church. He was somewhere he...

Change

Image
There is something special about the truth. It is unchanging. All around us everyday there is change. I am so grateful that even when all things change, the truth does not. God never ceases to be a God of miracles. Jesus Christ never stops reaching out His hand. The Holy Ghost never changes in being a constant companion. There was a lot of change this week. A lot of ups & downs. We got transfer calls & Hermana Hoopes left. Hermana Lopez finshed her mission. We were in a trio for a day & Hermana Day got sick so we couldn’t leave. Our toilet began to flood the next day & again, couldn't leave. My new companion came & also got sick, we had to come home & stay home. There is opposition in all things, but especially when it's against the truth. I felt so overwhelmed. The week before I had to go to the hospital twice, one for a allergic reaction to a sister in my zone & the second for a cat bite. Why can't I just get a break? Why is Satan trying so har...
