Bring Him Fruit
"You have not chosen me, I have chosen you." This can be taken a couple different ways. I love all the ways but one that has stood out to me while being here is that as missionaries, we promised people before this life that we would find them and bring them this gospel!!! That is something I learned recently that I have just loved to picture. As I go out each day, I try to treat every conversation with the thought in mind that I have been searching for them my whole life and they have been waiting.
There was a mission conference in Bahia Blanca this week! We received lots of revelation and some new ideas on how to be better missionaries. So this week, we have been applying those new things & I want to share them here because it involves EVERYONE!! Missionary work is not only for missionaries!!! We all need to be helping gather the people for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ!!! & let me just say, it is so near. This week on our first interactions with people, we tell them that we are missionaries of course and that we help people come unto Christ by attending His church that has been restored & to help people read the Book of Mormon. The culminating hour of the week is sacrament meeting. Everything we do out here leads to that moment because that is where people can experience all of the beautiful things that this church has to offer. Reading in the scriptures, listening to testimonies, priesthood ordinances, love, the music, and the spirit!!! You have to make them feel the spirit & with that, we can't give up easily. We need to bare strong testimony of the importance! It could be the most important decision in their whole life.
The Lord knows who is ready. He will place people in our paths. We need to be ready to recognize that and once we do, listen to the spirit. You will know exactly what to say, when you need to say it. We have been doing family home evening nights with the members and having them write who they want to see one day in the church. People who would be ready with just a little push. We have received lots of references!! So, I invite you all to think of some people that you want to see one day sitting in sacrament meeting and think of ways that you can invite them in small ways to feel of the spirit!! & continue to be an example. The ones that we need to find are gathering around the elect!!! Be aware of that. Keep Jesus Christ at the center of your life. He is the one that can change hearts, & it could even be your own.
As a zone, we decided to focus on the invitations to church! Normally as a zone we have about 7 friends come in total. This week we more than doubled it!!! Each companionship had at least 2 friends come to church! It was a miracle.
It was a good week! Felt of the spirit! Spanish is coming along!!! The sun came out! Lots of yummy food! Walked miles! Visited beautiful people every single day! It is a blessing. We get tired, but you keep pushing and remember the reason you are here. Remember the atonement!! It was never easy for Christ. So when life gets hard, remember you have someone right beside you who knows exactly what things you need. Lean on Him, forever.
I love you. I pray for you.
