Change Of Heart
Doctrine and Covenants 84:88 "And whoso receiveth you, there I will be also, for I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up."
As I sat in the cafe that morning, I couldn't stop myself from crying as I read this scripture. The spirit was there, and it was strong. Oh my goodness it is just so wonderful to be a missionary. I felt a change that very first day and now here I am 3 months later noticing change even more. I had a change of heart this week. I read and listened to so many amazing talks and books and scriptures. I just want to pour out all of the things I learned but I will limit it to what I feel is most important.
But first, I am going to tell you about this week!!! Got our new companion!!! Hermana Burgos is so funny like everyone has said and she is just awesome. I know that I am going to learn so much from her and I am excited! She talks and it is just beautiful, peaceful, and spiritual. She is full of charity. I am thankful. Coming up on the final weeks with Hermana Trimble and you all know how I feel about that. That will be a sad, heartfelt goodbye. She has been such an amazing missionary, I can't even express. The people and the mission were so lucky to have her.
Our friend Lidia!!! It is finally her baptism this Saturday!! We are so so excited for her to start her journey to the Savior. Maylin!!! She is so good. We hope she progresses. Adriana!!! Always and just is an amazing person. Her husband too and we hope she will continue to take steps in the right direction to one day be prepared to be baptized!!! Pray for these friends please!!!
Now for change. We can receive many revelations daily. It will not be easy, but it is possible. As I read a talk given by Henry B. Eyring, I felt the spirit so strong. There are 3 requirements for this and all of them have to be renewed. The first is to have faith. Remember Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. You will have to be sure of your faith in the moment of crisis. The memory of a spiritual experience you had will not be sufficient. You must be unshaken in your knowledge of God and of the Savior. The next is to be clean. We need to be continually exercising repentance. If you have repented for something and still feel like maybe you haven't fully been forgiven, know that the Lord will give assurance in His time. If you have felt the Holy Ghost today, you may take it as evidence that the atonement is working in your life. The last is to have a pure motive. Your purposes must be the Lord's purposes. Become pure. Do all that you do with the Lord in mind. When baring his testimony, the spirit came and stayed with me as I knew the things he was testifying were true. He explained that God the Father and Jesus Christ both glorified and resurrected came to Joseph Smith... They were there... AH so powerful and I just love it. They were there.
As I continue forward, I am going to look for the miracles and the hand of the Lord in my life with real intent. I know I will notice it more when I think about it and pray for it. I invite you all to do the same.
I love you all. Work on your testimony. Be firm. I pray for you.
