Angels Round About
A bunch of goodbyes to the people of Santa Rosa, my companion, & the zone this week. I do not like goodbyes but it's a little easier knowing there's something else in store. I picked some scriptures to share with each member family and went to visit and leave them with my testimony. The bus came on Wednesday and we had a 5 hour trip! Then I met my new companion!!! Hermana López has been the cutest thing!! She is such a light!!! Her testimony is so strong and all she does is for the people!! She loves big! And with that, she is such a jokester & it makes all things happier.
It's such a good area!! The ward is pretty big and we've had quite a few lessons with members!! That is something I want to try to do more because each time the spirit is stronger!!! We had a lesson with Mauricio and an Hermana from our ward. We talked about our conversion stories and the hermana shared her love story with her husband, who recently passed. We were all crying, it was beautiful. At the end we shared a video of a temple open house. I couldn't help myself from crying. The temple is the House of the Lord!!! Go, & go again!!! The work is so important! People are waiting for YOU!!! I miss the temple more than I can explain. It became a second home for me & no matter what one I went to, the spirit was just the same & strong.
Franco is an inactive member but he came to church on Sunday!!! Years since he hadn't been. We finished with a lesson and had about two hours left of the day & we had plans but nothing set in stone and we decided to replan. So we prayed individually & after my companion asked what I felt. All I said was a family, maybe the Fernández family, and do a family home evening with them. We reached out first because they live far away, but they couldn't. So my companion mentioned another family, Franco's family. We planned on doing an activity to ask for references but I said to my companion right before we left the house that we needed to change that plan. So we prayed again. I said let's show a video. Started with Gethsemane and then we ended up deciding on Where Justice, Love & Mercy meet. We showed the video and we were talking about a lot of things. Long story short he said he felt super welcomed at church and different than normal in a good way! He said there was one member who put his hand on his arm and he just felt so welcomed by him in specific. This member was Hermana Fernández. He then went on to explain how he always remembers this missionary that served in the ward who was always so welcoming of him and he would always break dance. I can't even believe this next part. Hermana Fernández served here in his mission years ago and on Thursday he showed us a video of him break dancing. And I started to cry as I explained this to him and my companion started to cry and then he started to cry. Oh how there are angels working among us. There are just no coincidences. The Lord's timing is perfect.
As I close this email, I want to share a few things from my journal which may become a regular thing for me because I've done it now for like 6 weeks. I read a talk called "Come Unto Me" by Jeffery R. Holland. And these are all my favorites. Come unto me, learn of me, follow me, & in the process I will give you answers to your prayers & rest to your souls. Come unto Him & lay down your burden. Let Him lift the load. With His stripes you can be healed. Do whatever you have to do to come unto the fold & be blessed. We can be comforted. Considering the incomprehensible cost of the crucifixion, Christ is not going to turn His back on us now. "I am convinced that none of us can appreciate how deeply it wounds the loving heart of the Savior of the world when He finds that people do not feel confident in His care or secure in His arms or trust in His commandments. They can't help but bless us. They have to. It's in their nature. He knows it all, & he knows the way. He is the way. However faulting our steps are towards Him, His steps are never faulting towards us.
I hope you know how much I truly love each and every one of you. Thank you for all the support. I pray for you all the time.
With all my love,
Hermana Morley
