We Cannot Go Amiss
"I want that."
I was in exchanges and we were on our way to visit some people and one of them was Andres. We had a lesson with him my first week in this area, & the spirit was so present. My companion & I were both crying & he had tears in his eyes. It had been about 4 weeks since we had that lesson with him. We decided to pass by on Friday & it just so happens that we knocked just as he had gotten home from work!!! We asked if we could have a minute to share a little lesson. He said yes!!! So we started to share about the Gospel of Jesus Christ & this guy just brings the spirit. He carries the light of Christ. He was smiling so big and was responding to each point!!! We talked about baptism & the holy ghost and you could just tell he had the desire!!! So we extended the invitation & he accepted!!!! He is getting baptized on March 4th & we are so excited!!!
Some of you may remember the miracle of the rain, when we found Ian. Well Ian, has a little brother named Kevin! They have been coming to church & we had a lesson with them last night. We also taught them about faith, repentance, baptism, the gift of the holy ghost, and enduring to the end!!! As indicated by the spirit, we invited them to be baptized!!! Kevin really wants to be baptized & Ian was a little bit more hesitant but he said he was going to pray about it. We have the faith that they will both be baptized on February 12th!!!
The scriptures contain the words of Christ & are a reservoir of living water to which we have ready access & from which we can drink deeply & long. By doing so, we can receive both spiritual direction & protection during our mortal journey. We have the responsibility to use them consistently & effectively!!! Jesus Christ knows & loves us individually. He is concerned about our spiritual development & progress. The Redeemer will never leave us alone. We should always pray for guidance & direction. We should always seek for the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost. If we put the essential things first, then we will be blessed with inspiration & strong judgement as we pursue the path that leads us back to our Heavenly Home. If we put the essential things first, "we cannot go amiss." Lifelong conversion means that we endure to the end, remaining firm in our commitment to keep the covenants we have made with God - no matter what. Such commitment cannot be conditional or dependent upon the circumstances in our lives. We need the sacrament. The sacrament is the next ordinance needed each week of our lives. While we know that we are not perfect. We may be perfected by relying on Jesus Christ. God cares a lot more about who we are & who we are becoming then about who we once were. He cares that we keep trying.
So go to church, & if you have been hanging back or sleeping in, go this next Sunday. I promise it is the most important hour of the whole week. When we can remember Jesus & be renewed through his perfect Atonement. As I read these things this week, the spirit just reaffirmed to me how important it is to be fully committed to this gospel. Even letting scripture study or prayer slip up can bring destruction. Hold tight to the simple things. Don't let Satan win your heart. Keep your heart with Jesus. He just wants your heart.
I love you & I pray for you.
With all my heart,
Hermana Morley <3
also today is gab's birthday, so text her, call her, & especially give her a hug for me. I love you gab.
also found myself sobbing in the street the other day out of nowhere because splash mountain closed this week & I promise that is so sad. It was like the biggest memory of disneyland for my family growing up & every surprise to go was with zip a dee doo dah. So here's a picture of my family & I for the last time we went on splash. We loved you. Thank you for all the memories.
