It Will Be An Anchor
As I sat in sacrament meeting yesterday, I really focused on my personal relationship with Christ. While being a missionary, I have been thinking about our friends & what going through their mind & oh I hope they are feeling the spirit, or receiving the answers to their prayers. When that happens, it's like I miss the whole point. The sacrament is for me. It's for you. It's the moment each week to, through the sincerity of your heart, be made clean again. To think of our Savior & His great sacrifice. & to remember Him. & as I did, my heart was on fire & tears filled my eyes. So I invite you to really take this sacred moment of every week, & turn it into what it was meant to be. A moment for you & a moment with the Lord. Do not treat the sacrament lightly! Oh how great a blessing it is to have the opportunity to, each week, start over & try to be better the following. & oh how great the love is from our Lord to us to give it to us.
Went on exchanges this week!!! I was with Hermana Hermanson, who is from Herriman but just never knew her. She is so cute & hilarious. I have to put what she told me at one point. She said, "Whenever there are people who are not progressing or the ones who aren't interested, in my mind I'm thinking, "The field is white & ready to harvest!!!" She was just basically screaming this in the street & I was laughing out loud. We share a ward here too so as I went to her area, I already knew her friends. We were walking to go visit a few people, as their friend Carlos came biking down the road. He stopped to say hi & then went on his way. As we kept walking we both had the thought to go & visit him. So we did, followed him & found him at a store & called his name, then he walked with us with his bike in his hands. Pure. We sat in his yard & spoke about the plan of salvation. The spirit was testifying to him the words leaving our mouths. & we invited him to be baptized!!! & he accepted!!! What a little miracle that he passed by on his bike in that street, at that exact moment. He is ready & we are excited for him.
We were bummed this week, when we heard that Kevin's mom wasn't going to let him be baptized. That isn't stopping us though. We got her number & sent her a text & we are going to meet up with her. Kevin's baptism is supposed to be this weekend, & we still need to teach a few things. So in hopes of finding him the other day, we stopped by. Ian was home, but not Kevin. As we asked him about baptism, he said he changed his mind. He wants to be baptized too!!! He said that he just knows that it's good. We told him to talk to his mom & explain the desires of his heart & pray that she will say yes. These sweet two boys are pure in heart. They listen so intently & have the light of Christ embedded in them. So, please pray for them, that they can make this step.
Something so special this week was our devotional as a mission with Elder Renlund!!! I can't put what he said but he spoke directly to us as a mission and I just know that what he said was direct revelation from God!!! We were uplifted & I was in tears!!! I know I was called here to this mission, at this time for a reason. The Lord has directed this. & I really just can't wait to see what's in store!!! Also I will be hitting six months this month & that blows my mind as well. I am going to be savoring every single moment I have left to stand as a representative of Christ as a missionary!!!
Remember the promises that the Lord gives to those who follow Him!!! & strive to do all that you can to have those promises fulfilled!
I love you & I pray for you!!!!
With all my heart,
Hermana Morley <3
