Get Down On Your Knees

As I was on exchanges this week, we passed by a friend who was taught before. She came walking out of her house with a smile on her face & said, "I have two other Mormon's inside, come in." So we went in. And two members from Southern Argentina were there!!! What a sweet surprise. It was her brother & his wife, visiting before their temple trip. She told us right off the bat that she's not interested but she loves to spend time with us. We decided just to share a scripture!! Which scripture led to a duet from Hermana Trader & I. Which led to teaching parts of the restoration & the Book of Mormon. & these members were baring strong testimony along with all of it. We left her with a Book of Mormon & told her to read it & she agreed.

A few days later, there was a Relief Society activity in the ward. Our friend came walking in with her sister in law. What a sweet surprise. We decided to go pass by her house again that night. I started off by sharing a story about my great grandparents in Germany when my great grandma got baptized. Talked about family. Then we taught again, more principles from the restoration. Which was followed by strong testimony from each person. Her brother was quoting scriptures & sharing his conversion story, which brought the spirit so powerfully into the room. It was undeniable & it brought tears to my eyes as he explained his prayer of faith to know if this church is true. He told us he kneeled down to ask God after reading the Book of Mormon in 17 days, & as he prayed it was like fire started from from knees & up into his chest. He prayed again, the spirit made itself manifest through the same feeling. & one more time, the exact same. Everybody in that room felt the spirit, it was so present. She said, I'm going to read that book. We knew she was hard hearted, but it was softened that day. The spirit touched the life of Nilda.

Get down on your knees & ask God. That's all you need to do. The District President of Necochea got up to give a talk on Sunday. There have been some unity problems in our branch because the branches were combined. Everytime we visit members & inactive members, each one talks badly about another, or because of one member they are not active anymore. It breaks my heart. As the president got up to give a talk he said it so perfectly. If you are not sure, get down on your knees & ask God. The circumstance will not change but your heart may change & you will be helped. The doctrine of the church is perfect. But the people are not & we know that. We all make mistakes, that's why Jesus came. Forgive. Forgive yourself & forgive others. Don't let something someone said take you away from the place you need to be. Soften your heart, like Nilda.

Carina is going to get baptized next month!!! Her whole family is baptized but she never felt ready & now she does!!! We had a lesson with her nephew, as he is serving his mission in Chile, & we taught the restoration as well!! She was crying & it was so precious! We are so excited for her to make this step! April 22 will be such a special day.

When I was in Texas last summer, Lisa Field played a talk at 4 in the morning as we drove to the airport. It touched me & now I'm sharing it here. We cannot expect to live in such a world without experiencing certain consequences of these conditions. Yet we can always keep our covenants, even if we cannot keep such conditions from coming. Real disciples absorb the fiery darts of the adversary by holding tight to the quenching shield of faith with one hand, while holding to the iron rod with the other. There should be no mistaking, it will take both hands. We are to become even as Jesus, with His virtues being increasingly replicated in our lives. Even in the midst of our obvious imperfections, a sacred process is to be underway. Whatever one’s unfolding agenda, he can be overcoming if he is becoming more like Christ. Nothing is beyond His redeeming reach or His encircling empathy. Therefore, we should not complain about our own life’s not being a rose garden when we remember who wore the crown of thorns. We will end up either choosing Christ’s manner of living or His manner of suffering.

& oh how much I pray that we will choose Jesus. The living being who is so eager & ready to help us. The one, who if we follow, we will be saved & protected. Find Him & open your heart. Ask God, He is listening. & He will answer, if you have the faith.

I love you all & I pray that each & every one of you can stay close to Jesus & if you have strayed away, that you may find your way back home.

With all my heart,

Hermana Morley <3
