All Around Us
What brings the most joy is when people choose to follow Jesus. When they change their lives & take that step. When they stay firm even if it seems different. Oriana, Thiago, & Vladimir opened the doors to heaven yesterday as they stepped into the water & were baptized. If only you could've seen the smiles on their faces. Pure joy. This week revolved around them & I loved every second of it. One of my favorite parts was when Thiago was praying & he said "thank you for the sisters who are here almost every day." We were there everyday this week preparing them for the special day. It was happiness. They were so ready & so excited for the day. They all came to church knowing that their baptism depended on it. But with them, came the whole family. The church was filled. As I sat in the room, I couldn't help the tears. To see this family, some active, some inactive, & some who are still hanging back, but all there, supporting these little kids in their decision. Angels are so near.
Our sweet convert Karina is another one who we spent the week with. As you know, she got baptized & the following week her son Simon!! She has 3 other kids & her husband who aren't baptized. We've been trying to teach all of them since the beginning but just recently, things are starting to click for Facundo, the husband, & their son, Quimey. We know they are so close. We had lunch with Karina the other day & we sat & talked about Quimey & his life. Then he walked in right as we were about to share a message. He joined in & we talked & the topic was nowhere near baptism & I felt so strongly to invite him to be baptized. Almost pushed it off because it felt weird to invite someone during lunch, but I knew I would have regretted it. So I did, & he said yes!!! Tears came to my eyes to see the happiness of Karina as she just hugged him. This means everything to her!! So June 10, we will watch Quimey take his step.
I'm going to be reaching halfway in my mission at the end of this month. I can't really believe it. I feel like just yesterday I was saying goodbye to all of you. It really has been so good. The people here are changing my life for the better. My testimony has been strengthened more than ever. Argentina is a beautiful place. I have learned, or at least started to learn, how the spirit works & I have seen it touching others. I know there's still so much more to do & so much to learn. I am so excited to see all the things the Lord has in store. He is my rock. I know He lives & loves us. I know He is right here walking alongside me & I feel His angels all around. Look for the angels in your life. I promise they are there, guiding you, helping you, lifting you. As is your Savior.
Oh how much I love all of you & how I miss you.
With all my heart,
Hermana Morley <3
