Full Of Change

One of the things that brings me to tears is to see the change in the lives of these people. A moment I will never forget was to be back in Necochea for a day, while in the middle of change. It just so happened that they had a lesson planned with Nahuel. He came out to greet us with the biggest smile. We talked about how although it may be hard to see now, there is hope. That there is a plan & God has so much in store. We talked about the atonement of Jesus Christ & how it is never too late. I couldn't help but feel the love God has for him. I sat there & began to cry & tears filled his. Nahuel changed my life. He is a light.

On Wednesday night, we got a call from President to tell us transfer news. He asked for my companion first. Told her where she was going & with who & then told her that he couldn't tell me before telling my new companion first & hung up. So I didn't sleep much. My mind was running all night. The next day after we left the house, we got another call. My new companion was to be Hermana Gomez!!! From Mexico! I had met her once & she was just so sweet. I am still in Necochea, I love it here. This will be 7 months in this area. Half my heart is here. So I am not mad, especially knowing that there is a reason for me being here!! We have a lot of friends with great potential & have high hopes for changed lives.

Hermana Celada & I had one transfer together. I learned so much from her. She is a hard worker, she studies profoundly, she has a laugh that is just so contagious, she is always thinking of our friends, & she has such a love for this gospel. We laughed so much together & I love her. She is now in her last transfer & that is crazy. My new companion is so sweet, we have already seen so many miracles & have such hope for the people we are teaching!!!

After all the change & lack of sleep from waking up in the middle of the night to go pick up & drop off sisters, I got sick. Woke up with a fever but went on my way. We had a day full of lessons ahead of us & still more people showing up. It was a long day with my head pounding but with lots of prayer, I made it to the end of the day. & that next day, also full of lessons. Patricio!!! We have a competition of who can read the first 2 books of the Book of Mormon. So far I'm winning but he's close behind me. He had made it to 1 Nephi 15! We were able to respond to some of the questions he had & invite him to pray about the book. He said he would!! We know if he can get a testimony of these things, he will be ready. Eliana!!! Our little grandma, 84 years old. She is the purest thing. Doesn't remember everything but remembers a whole lot. Always gets out her Book of Mormon to read with us. We invited her to church, to have a member come pick her up. She had tried to go to church months ago but when she got in the taxi she told them, "to the church," & they took her to the catholic church downtown. So hilarious. Pablo!!! We were able to talk to him about the priesthood, as he is preparing to receive it. It was sweet & we helped him see his potential.

Yesterday, we walked to Eliana's house to help her get to church. We showed up & she came out & told us she thought we forgot her because she thought that it started at 9. She is so cute. The members came by to pick her up & she made it to church for the first time!!! She was so pure. Singing the hymns & listening so intently. She told us she loved it & wants to bring her husband next time.

We had a bunch of lessons in the afternoon. One of the members of our ward came with us. She is a trooper. First, gave us a referral to go meet up with her & her friend. We taught the restoration & it was beautiful. Then went on our way for another lesson we had planned. As we showed up, no one answered. That was a bummer but there was another guy who lived close that we had been wanting to visit for some time. We began walking there, & there's a man who I recognized right away from just earlier that day who drove by us on motorcycle. He was probably drunk, maybe drugged. He stopped us & told us he wanted to learn about God & invited us to his house. He said we could have mate & coffee & how there's a grandma there so we can go with him. Oh no no, it's fine we have someone waiting for us. He insists. No no it's fine. I tell him I had seen him earlier, he avoids that. Told him another day another day. Wrote down his number & walked away. We got to the apartment where our friend lives. There's one door that leads to all of the apartments behind it. Normally it's shut & you press your friends button. We look behind us, this man is running towards us. There's a lady outside, she lives there too. We go hi, can we go in here? She lets us in & this man goes running by. A neighbor down the road apparently called the police. So we had to wait. Our friend wasn't even there. Police show up, they don't care because nothing actually happened. The member with us was so mad haha. Just as the police show up, our friend, with his whole family shows up. They listened to our whole conversation & then after it was all over, invited us in. They have been taught many times by missionaries. He had gone to church many times. It was powerful, we talked about families & trials. How we have to have faith & keep going forward. He said he knows what he needs to do, but just needs to take the step. They all told us they would come to church next week. So until then, we pray a lot. With faith & with hope. This could change their lives.

So much happened this week, so much change. I am left feeling grateful. I love being a missionary. I have been one now for 11 months. It's going by so fast & I want it to slow down. I know there's still so much to learn & so much more to see. I am so happy. This is my joy. My heart hurts knowing that one day, it will be over. But that it is really just the beginning. The part that prepares for the rest. So, I give my all now. Love with all I got. Finding Jesus in the details, every single day. You can do it too. He is right there with you. He is one thing that never changes.

Oh how I love you!!! I pray for you.

With all my heart,

Hermana Morley <3
