Hearts Rejoice
He wanted to follow Jesus & so he said yes. Our friend Pablo decided to accept a baptismal date!!! He has been taught for quite some time by the missionaries. We began to teach him & felt his desire to learn more about Jesus Christ. As he sat in Elders Quorum, he heard about baptism & he wanted that. We had a phone call with him & we helped him with some of the questions & doubts he had. & we invited him to take the step & follow Jesus. Hearts rejoiced. We are happy for him & will be helping him prepare spiritually to start on the covenant path!
Yesterday as we finished a lesson, we passed by the house of a family to invite them to the activity we had. We waited at the church for maybe 10 minutes & we saw 8 kids walking down the road. They came!!! It was so special. They sang, listened, & had fun while I just sat there with a smile on my face because kids are joy. Last week in testimony meeting, all the kids went up to share all that they know in their hearts. When I see them making changes in their lives & getting closer to Jesus, my heart is happy. There's just something special about it. It happens all the time & tears fill my eyes knowing how little they truly understand but that one day these things they did while they were young will shape their lives. Oh how I love them. No wonder Jesus always was with the children. No wonder we are to become as little children. Their hearts are so pure.
We went to Bahia Blanca this week. We listened to the council that was needed for us. We counseled together & had a special moment when we talked about how many baptisms we would have this month. How many people we would help take their steps. 41. What was so special was that we all knelt in prayer as our mission president prayed for the confirmation. Such a peace we felt in that moment. Our mission president talked to us about how fast the time goes & tears filled his eyes. He told us to enjoy it & to find joy. It is my joy. When these people recognize that Jesus is the only way. When they feel the desire to follow Him & to know Him. My heart rejoices.
We are to be of good cheer. As I found myself studying this week, there was a talk that stood out to me & I wanted to share it with you. We are living in a time in which we shall see things both wonderful & awful. There is no way that we can be part of the last days & have it otherwise. So, be of good cheer. Because!!! Jesus Christ has overcome the world. Let your hearts rejoice & be exceedingly glad. Jesus calls upon us to have deliberate trust in God's unfolding purposes, not only for all humankind but for us individually. And we are to be of good cheer in the unfolding process. A few will give up instead of holding out to the end. This is our time & our task. Good cheer is being valiant in the testimony of Jesus. "Be of good cheer, for I will lead you along," He tells us. & He waits with open arms to receive us.
So go to Him. Be happy. Smile always. The time goes by so fast. Don't let it go to waste. Let your heart rejoice!!!
Oh how much I love you. I pray for you.
With all my heart,
