Rallied Around
A beautiful start to the week as we gathered together as a zone to be edified. The messages given brought the spirit. We spoke on faith, joy, hope, charity, meekness, & humility. Just how Jesus Christ is. We are to be like Jesus. We are to teach as he would. We are to love & serve as he would. It's what we promised when we were baptized. We are the light of Christ. The people see that in us. We are helping them find that light. We are preparing to be with God while we are here on Earth. God is full of glory & light. Our mission president gave us an analogy. He asked us if tomorrow, we were asked to do a brain surgery on someone, would we be ready? We would not be ready. It takes 13 years & a life of practice to be a brain surgeon. It is a process. We must work at it everyday. He then asked us if we would be ready to be with God tomorrow. It takes a whole life of repenting & becoming better. It is a process. Prepare yourselves. You must know that the grace of Jesus Christ is sufficient. He will fill the gaps that you can't, but you must do your part too.
We invited our friend Patricio to be baptized this week, he said no but we feel happy because he is still progressing! He came to church again & participated in class!!! He is just waiting for his answer & we know that he will receive it in no time.
Our friend Pablo is full of faith! He is supposed to get baptized on Saturday & we are really hoping that it goes through! He has some doubts about a few things that are important to have some sort of belief on! But we are praying and helping him work through it so he can get baptized with no problem!
We have been reading the Book of Mormon with our friends & it has made such a difference as they have been able to better understand it & receive that testimony!! I invite you all to keep building your testimony of the Book of Mormon!!! It testifies of Jesus Christ & it can give you the answers to your prayers. Read it everyday.
Acts 15:26 "Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."
In my study this week, I thought deeply about this scripture. Many of you are missionaries right now, many have recently finished, many served years ago, maybe even decades, & many are missionaries without a plaque. Many were born into the gospel, many found it later, many recently found it, & some are returning. There is a sacrifice with each & every one of them. We have all hazaraded our lives for the cause of Jesus. A surrender, a trust, a sacrifice. But one that comes with so much love, experience, & happiness. I got emotional as I sat & thought about the mission & as I thought about life. There are moments of tribulation. There are moments that break us. To see people rejecting the thing that has brought us such joy. To see family slipping away. To see people losing their lives to sickness. To see people lost & broken, not recognizing that the atonement can save them. & on & on. Through tribulation, we enter into the Kingdom of God. So keep on going. Hazard your life to Jesus. Surrender your life to Him. He is the one who can save you. There are people praying specifically for you. Many more than you may think. To those who are missionaries right now, when you find yourself down & broken, remember how you will feel in the last nights of your mission. & use that feeling to get up & fight just a little harder. We are all rallied around each other, praying, with angels all around us.
Oh how much I love you. I pray for you.
With all my heart,
