Meet Jesus
He was explaining how much happier he feels when we come over, how much things make sense, & how much he likes the books. We told him that it is the spirit of truth. There is no doubt in my mind that the spirit hasn't testified to him because of the abundance of it that we feel as we teach him. He just has a hard time recognizing that. We invited Jorge to be baptized this week. He told us no, closed no. He has had it one way his whole life & just can't seem to let the spirit lead him to the place where he could be happy, neverending happy. Hermana Hoopes was left without words. He asked why she was so quiet. She began to bare testimony. Testimony that reached my heart. So powerful & tears streamed down my face. It was so special. I know that this is true. It all is, without a doubt in my mind. If people would just ask in faith, they would too. When we went home I knew he needed to hear the prophets' voice. & so we will see where that goes. Many times this week I just had to testify & sit there as people tried to convince me of the ways things should be. Oh how hard it is to hear how lost they are, but so special the immediate recognition that this is not true. We cannot ever lack in testimony or the adversary can win in those situations. So find the truth & keep it there.
Isabel & Melody are the most pure. We went to their house & taught them about the tree of life. We did a visual representation of it & they just laughed at us but fully understood. We bare testimony with them & they just listen intently. Eyes glazed over & questions to follow. They know it is true. They told us that their favorite part was to stay at the tree & call for your family. That we should not leave to go get them or we could get lost. It was so special. We are able to completely open up to these girls, they feel like my little sisters. Ava & Poppy, I love you. We then invited them to church & Melody was like we have a birthday party on Saturday & Isabel was like yeah but we're going to church. It has been a few weeks since they've gone. So we began testifying of the sacrament. Sometimes we don't fully understand but we have to keep doing something until we get a testimony of it. & then they came to church!!! I looked over at them during the sacrament & they were praying. The sweetest.
Silvia & Esmeralda are happy. They are excited to be baptized. We know they have a testimony. We taught them about the restoration again because Esmeralda wasn't there when we taught it to Silvia. As we said the first vision, she had tears in her eyes. When we talked about the Book of Mormon, the spirit was so strong. & they shared that they know it's true. They know how important it is to be firm & consistent. They are so special.
I read a talk this week. One sent to me by the most sweetest lady who I love. This talk is one about the temple. A temple covenant focused life is what all of us should desire because it is a life filled with both clarity & joy. The Savior & His doctrine are the very heart of the temple. It all increases our understanding of Jesus Christ. We should want to enter His house often because Jesus is anxious to meet with us there. But first you must be worthy. You should not be rushed. You cannot cut corners of preparation & risk the breaking of covenants you were not prepared to make. There will be opposition to any such plan because temples are the very center of the spiritual strength of the Church. We should expect that the adversary will try to interfere with us as we seek to participate in this sacred & inspired work & come to know Jesus in a more intimate & sacred way. Just attending the temple is not enough. Something needs to happen to us because of our spending time in the house of the Lord. We need to leave His house differently than when we entered. The Lord loves you for your faithfulness in coming to His house, even if you have not yet had the experience for which you have hoped, fasted, & prayed. Study the scriptures about the temple. Sacrifice your sins on the altars of the temple. Repentance is so essential to temple revelation & temple revelation is essential to the change that we all should experience from meeting Jesus in the temple. The sacrament also helps us become & remain clean. Approach it with greater reverence. Seek Jesus while participating in temple ordinances. We too often ignore that all things in the temple point us toward Jesus Christ, his Atonement, & His role of bringing to pass the immortality & eternal life of man. He is why we come to the temple. He is at the very center of every ordinance, every covenant, & every hoped for blessing in the temple. Seeking Jesus in the temple enables us to understand why we are in the temple & why we should return.
I miss the temple. It is one of my greatest desires to be there again. So go!!! We are so privileged at home to have temples so close to us. Make it a focus in your life. Your week should revolve around that & the sacrament. Oh how blessed you will be.
I love you all & I sure do pray for you.
With all my heart,
Hermana Morley <3
