You Are A Light
The desire is in their hearts. We went with a member to visit our dear friends Silvia & Emeralda. They let us in with joy on their faces, like always. We decided to take it back to the basics to help them build up their testimonies. & so, we did. We taught from the scriptures about how important it is to pray, to go to church, & to read the scriptures. We told them how much it blesses our lives & how much it will bless theirs. Silvia started to talk about how they had been thinking about baptism. The plan as we went wasn't to invite them to be baptized because last week we did & she said not yet. She told us that they have a desire but it is just hard to put a date because they don't know if they'll make it. So, we invited them to get baptized on November 25!!! They said yes & they were so happy. It was so special! The spirit was there.
We got a referral from social media. A lady who wanted a Book of Mormon. We reached out to her & she told us she has a lot of school & work but she could come to the church in between everything to get it. We told her that we would be able to go to the church on Sunday. She said she could go!!! & so we planned on that. Sunday comes,we show up to church. One of the brothers said, "your friend is here." & we got to meet her!! Her name is Yudit. She was super young & was just sitting on the bench next to a sweet member who just got baptized not too long ago, Naty. She told us she was going to stay for the meeting. We sat down & we're going to explain everything but Naty had already done so because she is literally so good. We sat & listened to the testimonies of all the members & every single one focused on their conversions, the missionaries blessing their lives, prayer, Jesus, & the Book of Mormon. It was absolutely perfect & the spirit was so strong. Yudit left happy with her Book of Mormon.
We had a wild week with almost no sleep. On Tuesday we went to Tandil for exchanges & we left at 1:30 am. Which means we arrived at Tandil at 4 am. I got to do exchanges with Hermana Day!! She is a light & she has such a strong testimony. I learned so much from her. She has such a beautiful life story. She knows Jesus. I also got to spend more time with Hermana Lopez. Somehow she just has made herself back into my mission again in these past few months of her mission & I am happy about that. I did find myself sobbing as I wrote her a letter knowing that she is off to Uruguay again. We got back on a bus that night at 1:30 am & got home at 4 am. Slept in our beds & worked in our area the whole day. A day full of so many lessons & talking to so many people in the street. We've been doing so much of that. Then that night we had another bus, this time to Bahia Blanca where we had a conference. So at 2 am we got on & got to Bahia at 8 am. Had an amazing conference. We were enlightened. Talked about the goals for the mission & how we can be better. President talked about how we are light. Our presence is so important. & so many other things with stories that brought the spirit. That night we got back on a bus from 9 pm to 2 am & then slept in our beds. I promise 4 nights in a row sleeping on a bus is not recommended but somehow this week was full of so much light & joy. I learned so many things.
I have reached the end of the Book of Mormon!!! But this time, in spanish! Tomorrow, I will finish it. It has been such a testimony building experience for me. It is saying all the same things but just a slight change of the significance to the words & I love it. Oh how I know that book is true. Every time I read it, I feel power added to my life. I see it changing the lives of others. We had a district council the other day & we did a few practices. The second we started to use the scriptures, the spirit made itself manifest. There is power. It is true. They are the words of God. Read it, especially if you are struggling right now. Pray to God & tell Him all your struggles. Then look for Him, because He is there. He loves you.
& so do I. I pray for you.
With all my heart,
Hermana Morley <3
