After The Storm

The storm just hasn't stopped. & actually there ended up being a tornado. Just so happened to be on divisions & someone let us into their house just as it started to get bad. Right as we went in, the power went out. Eventually, we left & the wind was so strong. Decided it would be smart to head home. On the way, we saw trees just knocked over, cable wires everywhere & poles just down, roofs taken off houses, & so much water. When we got home, we had no power either & eventually lost service. Finally, we switched back & Hermana Carruth & I did lots of member visits & random friend visits because we couldn't charge our phones. In the middle of the day, went to walmart to charge our phones & buy water. We had run out of water too. That next day we were told that the city was in a state of emergency. Had to stay inside because another storm was coming. So home, all day. Well, we went to lunch with members. Happiest day. Next day, wake up & plan so excited to go back out. Get a text that we have to stay inside again. 2nd day in a row. Kind of the third. Tuesday was the storm, wednesday we visited members without having phones or light or water. Thursday, home after lunch. Friday, home.

The next day, Saturday. We wake up, plan the day. We were told we can leave!!! Get a text from President wanting to talk to us. What could it be. He told me there were some emergency transfers happening & that I would be apart of it. He told me I would leave that day. So at 9 in the morning, I started packing & at 1, I left. Let me tell ya, I actually was so sad. I love Mariano Moreno. Those members are so dedicated & such examples to me. Our friends are so awesome & I am sad I won't be able to teach them anymore. Hermana Carruth & I got 2 weeks together. She did end up being an answer to my prayers & taught me so much in that short amount of time. We had so many things happen to us & I am left feeling thankful.

I am now in Independencia in Bahia Blanca! It was quite the adventure in getting here. I left at 1 & about at 7 another storm hit us on the road. When we got to Bahia, everything was destroyed. Trees down, wires everywhere, & cars flipped. Another tornado hit for us. I got out of the bus & the terminal was just ruined & nobody was there to get me. I was so sad & scared honestly. I had no service & no way of leaving because there were no taxis. The lady I sat next to, came up to offer me her phone which calmed my heart. I called but no answer from anyone. Then 15 minutes later, I see the assistants. That was happy. They ended up driving me to the church where the sisters were, & then to their house to sleep, but the roof broke & it was flooded. We just slept. The next day my new companion came to get me, her name is Hermana Neuendorf! She is the sweetest & i am so excited to work with her. She is from San Diego. We did divisions together a few months back & I just felt like we would be companions one day. We finally got to our area! All is good with our house. Church was cancelled, which is so sad. We didn't get to take the sacrament, but we did get to go visit some members & offer them service. The other sisters whose house flooded, came to move in with us. Full house, it will be fun to spend Christmas with them.

I was left to spend so much time studying this week & i learned so much. I love the scriptures & I love listening to talks. There is so much power in the word. The moment I start reading, my heart is filled with peace. There is so much going on here, the people are all so confused. I'm not, this has been foretold. We must find peace in Jesus Christ. He is the Savior of the world. He is coming again & we must do our part. So prepare now, & don't delay.

Oh how much I love each one of you. I pray for you.

With all my heart,

Hermana Morley <3
